This week's literary offering...

Last week in class we talked and wrote about maps, real or imagined, physical or psychological. The homework assignment was to make a map list (hard to explain without a bunch of visual aids) or create a verbal map. So here is a verbal map of sorts.

I stand at the edge of a forest. It is the sort of forest that drips darkness and exhales malevolence. There should be a sign that warns of dragons and ogres and things that go bump in the night. This is an edge forest, uncharted and unknown. I am standing at the edge of the edge. Without a map or compass, only a faint forgotten path at my feet, I step out.
