The epic, legendary, and mythic stories of stuck busses and cars and how far one had to walk or had to wait for a bus, etc, etc has begun. It is almost a competititon - "Well, I had to wait 3 hours for a bus. You were lucky to only wait 2 and a half." People will tell these stories for years - and next time there is a hint of snow, the retelling begins in ernest.
I'm not quite sure if it is quaint or ridiculous - probably a bit of both.
